Yesterday (9), with the trial set to begin this week, Heard posted a statement on social media addressing the matter.

Johnny is suing me over an editorial I wrote for the Washington Post, in which I recounted my experience with domestic violence and abuse. I never mentioned his name. Instead, I wrote about the price women have to pay for exposing men in power.”.

I keep paying this price”, she continued. “But I hope that when this case is over, I can move on and so can Johnny. I’ve always had a love for Johnny and it brings me great pain to have to relive details of our lives spent together in front of the world. At this moment, I acknowledge the recurring support I have been lucky enough to receive over the years, and in the coming weeks I will need it more than ever.”.

The trial begins Monday at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia. It takes place three years after Depp opened the case, and has a star-studded witness list, including Heard’s ex-partner Elon Musk, actors James Franco, Paul Bettany, WandaVisionand Ellen Barkin.
