Debuts of Brazilians in doubles are postponed

The rain that significantly delayed the start of this Wednesday’s round at the Australian Open also ended up postponing all the doubles matches scheduled to take place on that day, including the debuts of the gauchos Rafael Matos and Marcelo Demoliner.

Seed 13 alongside the Spaniard David Vega, Matos would play the fourth match on court 15 against the Monegasque Hugo Nys and the Polish Jan Zielinski. Demoliner, who has the Italian Andrea Vavassori as a partner, would face the Belgians Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen in the fourth match on court 5.

In all, 20 doubles games were postponed, thus making room on the courts for possible changes in the schedule of singles matches, since there are still first-round games that have not been finalized, which would directly impact Thursday’s schedule.
