Elizabeth Olsen plays one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. After achieving massive success alongside Paul Bettany with the series WandaVision on Disney+, the actress has just returned with great prominence in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhere she appears 100% determined to find her children Billy and Tommy, using dark spells from the Darkhold, otherwise known as the Book of Sins.
In a recent interview, the 33-year-old actress revealed that, although she does not practice witchcraft, she is very familiar with the topic, as she has friends who are interested in the topic. “I am a witness to that. I don’t practice, but I have friends who practice and people around me who practice“, she said to pedestrian.tv.
Olsen further said that he believes he has a penchant for witchcraft: “I feel like me and some people in my life are a bit of a witch“, she continued. “And I think it has something to do with just being connected to nature and allowing certain thoughts, or amazing dreams, like actually allowing them, absorbing them. And I think there’s something about it itself that’s very magical..”
About her character, the actress commented a few weeks ago that is concerned about the Scarlet Witch’s influence on children. According to Olsen, minors who watch WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness should not look to Wanda as an example.
“I think the only thing that worries me is when people start saying, ‘Is she a role model for kids?’ And I don’t like answering that question because she’s a woman who made big mistakes, and I don’t want to think of her as a role model, encouraging kids to make similar violent mistakes.”
WandaVision is available on Disney+. Doctor Strange 2 is still in theaters and a recent rumor pointed out that the movie may arrive on streaming much sooner than expected.
