Ingrid Martins plays doubles at the WTA 250 in Lyon

In another week performing in France, Ingrid Martins will be the Brazilian representative at the WTA 250 in Lyon, on hard and indoor courts. The 26-year-old from Rio de Janeiro, ranked 91st among specialists in doubles, will play alongside American Angela Kulikov, ranked 58th.

Ingrid and Kulikov’s debut will be against the Spanish Cristina Bucsa and the Dutch Bibiane Schoofs. In case of victory, they can face in the quarterfinals the Chinese Shuai Zhang and the North American Alycia Parks, main seeds, who will be challenged by the Venezuelan Andrea Gamiz and the Spaniard Georgina Garcia Perez.

On the same side of the bracket are Switzerland’s Viktorija Golubic and Romanian Monica Niculescu, seeded 4 in the tournament. On the other hand, the Japanese Makoto Ninomiya and the Ukrainian Nadiia Kichenok are the 2 heads and may cross the path of the British Alicia Barnett and the Georgian Natela Dzalamidze in the semifinal.

Ingrid is currently with the best ranking of her career and played two tournaments in the season, the WTA 250 of Auckland and the ITF W60Andrezieux-Boutheon, reaching the quarterfinals in both events. In case of victory in the debut, Ingrid will already have 60 points in the ranking. The title is worth 280 for the champions.
