Margot Robbie to star in new movie ‘The Eleven and a Secret’

Recently, Margot Robbie confirmed as Johnny Depp’s replacement lead in a new franchise movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that the scripts for two spinoff productions of the franchise were already being written, one with and one without her. And it looks like the actress from The Suicide Squad has already signed a contract with another very famous movie series: Eleven men and a secret.

According to The Hollywood ReporterMargot Robbie will star in and produce a prequel set in the 1960s, with her director of the scandal and the director of Austin Powers, Jay Roach, ahead of the project. For now, there are not many details, but it has also been revealed that Carrie Solomon will be the screenwriter and the story will be set in Europe.

The original film starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop, and the 2001 remake featured George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, achieving great results in worldwide box office: $450 million.

Warner Bros. then produced two sequences, Twelve Men and Another Secret (2004) and Thirteen Men and a New Secret (2007). After 11 years, the franchise has returned with Eight Women and a Secret (2018), a female-led spin-off with Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchette, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kailing, Helena Bonham Carter, Awkafina, Rihanna, and Sarah Paulson.

With this news, Margot Robbie adds yet another great production to her resume of films in which she plays the lead role. In addition to playing DC’s Harley Quinn and starring in the next spin-off of Pirates of the Caribbeanthe actress will be Barbie in the film of the same name scheduled to premiere in 2023.

The new derivative of Eleven men and a secret does not yet have a scheduled release date.
