
After two rounds of the preliminary phase of the 2023 World Men’s Handball Championship, Brazil has a victory and a defeat. In the last round, on January 16, the team fights to advance to the main phase of the competition.
In Group C, Brazil lost to Sweden in its debut, by 26×18, but recovered against Uruguay, triumphing by 35×24 this Saturday, January 14, in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The best scorer of the match was winger Rudolph Hackbarth, with seven accurate shots. Brazil had a firm first half, winning by 19 to 10, and Uruguay tried to threaten at the beginning of the second, but ended up being swept away by the Brazilian team.
In the third and final round of the preliminary phase, the Brazilian team will play on Monday, January 16, at 14:00 (Brasília time), against Cape Verde.
Portugal, who had fallen to Iceland in the first round, in Group D, this time overcame the Republic of Korea by the score of 32-24.
The fate of the Portuguese will be decided against Hungary, also on Monday (16), at 19:30 Lisbon time.
