Based on the data provided by Grab, the top three reasons why people choose to have food delivered are:

  1. To satisfy food cravings they can’t cook
  2. There’s no time to cook.
  3. There’s no need to worry about traffic and parking.

According to the report, pizza, cakes, and pasta are some of the favorite meals that consumers aren’t able to cook at home. They’re time-consuming, they require *special* equipment (like an oven for pizza!), and let’s be real, the recipes aren’t always easy.

The report also says that people ordered more for dinner, lunch, and merienda. So, what exactly are they looking for?

Grab says pizza was searched for more than 6,000,000 (yes, six million!) times on GrabFood in 2020 alone! Since cake is also part of the list, it only makes sense that orders for cake in 2020 increased by 2.6 times compared to 2019.
