Pucinelli faces Paire at 21:30, Carol at dawn

After a victory by Laura Pigossi and a defeat by Felipe Meligeni in the Australian Open qualifier, the Brazilian participation in Melbourne continues on Monday night and Tuesday morning, with the debuts of Matheus Pucinelli and Carolina Meligeni Alves.

Pucinelli plays the second game on court 13, playing around 9:30 pm (Brasilia time). The 21-year-old young man from São Paulo, 210th in the ranking, challenges the experienced 33-year-old Frenchman Benoit Paire, formerly top 20 and currently ranked 172nd.

In case of victory, he will certainly face an American, coming from the duel between Michael Mmoh and the current youth champion Bruno Kuzuhara, who is the son of Brazilians and was born in São Paulo.

Carol Meligeni will play the third game on court 16 and should start at dawn. Number 3 in Brazil and 216 in the world, she faces Serbian Olga Danilovic, ranked 153rd, in an unprecedented confrontation. If she wins, she could face Greek Despina Papamichail or Hungarian Reka-Luca Jani.
