Sao Paulo honors the club's athlete who was fourth in the 97th Sao Silvestre

This past Tuesday, Sao Paulo paid tribute to Fabio Jesus Correia, the club’s athlete who took fourth place in the 97th edition of the Sao Silvestre race, held at the end of 2022. Tricolor, Julio Casares, on his social networks.

In the images, it is possible to see the manager next to Fabio, who received a shirt from the Sao Paulo team with his name and a plaque that congratulates him on the feat. In addition, Casares highlighted the runner’s story of “fight and overcoming”.

“Today was another exciting day. A fair tribute to the SPFC athlete, Fabio Jesus, who placed fourth in the Sao Silvestre race. He has a beautiful story of struggle and overcoming obstacles. Take note: he will still bring much joy to Brazil. We are together , Fabio. Sao Paulo remains in the DNA of athletics”, he wrote on his Instagram.

In the Sao Silvestre men’s competition, the 23-year-old athlete recorded a time of 46:13 and was the best placed Brazilian in the race. He also broke a 33-year drought for Sao Paulo without a representative on the podium of the course.

The last edition of Sao Silvestre was won by Andrew Rotich, from Uganda, with a time of 44:43. He was followed by Joseph Tiophil (45:17) from Tanzania and compatriot Maxwell Kortek.
