Shingeki no Kyojin: How to watch Attack on Titan in order?

Since it began to be published in 2009, the Shingeki no Kyojin manga has become a success, to the point that, after its completion in 2021, it is already considered one of the masterpieces of the century so far. However, the real success of the series came when in 2013, Hajime Isayama ‘s work got an anime adaptation.

On April 3, the second part of the fourth season of the anime came to an end, with the news that we will still have to wait until 2023 to see the final conclusion of the series. For this reason, perhaps this is the perfect time to draw up a Shingeki no Kyojin viewing guide so that you don’t miss even the smallest detail. Let’s go to the mess.

Season 1

You don’t have to be very insightful to realize that Shingeki no Kyojin, like any other series in the world, begins in its first season. This one, in particular, is made up of a total of 25 chapters in which we begin to be introduced to the entire Paradis universe, the Reconnaissance Legion (or Exploration Corps, as you prefer) and most of the extensive cast of characters, both protagonists as secondary.

This season, like the second and third, was brilliantly animated by Wit Studio and began airing on April 7, 2013. You can currently watch it on Amazon Prime Video .

First OVAS

The truth is that many anime viewers do not even know that these OVAS exist. As a general rule, nothing happens if they are not seen, except with the exception of Ilse’s Diary , where things related to the manga are revealed to us and, therefore, canonical for the plot of the series.

The rest are mostly expendable, although if you are a big fan of Shingeki no Kyojin it is always recommended to see them, since they help to delve into the psyche of various characters. On the other hand, they are only available, for the moment, on Crunchyroll .

Season 2

The second season covers from chapter 26 to 37 , which in the manga is equivalent to episodes from 34 to 50. This is where the plot of Shingeki no Kyojin begins to get complicated and gives us clues that there is something beyond what we we know. For many, in fact, it is one of the best seasons of the entire series.

Once again, you can see it on both Amazon Prime Video and Crunchyroll .

Lost Girls OVA

The next thing we will have to see is the Lost Girls OVA , based on a light novel titled under the same name. Again, this OVA is not essential, but it is interesting to learn a little more about characters as relevant to the series as Mikasa Ackerman and Annie Leonhart .

Season 3 (Part I)

At this point, it is time to see the third season of the series, although, yes, only its first part, which includes chapters 38 to 49 (51 to 72 of the manga). During this season, Eren and company will understand that the titans are not the only enemies they will have to face.

It is available on Amazon Prime Video and Crunchyroll .

Shingeki no Kyojin: Junior High

This special consists of 12 chapters and, as a general rule, is usually located in this position. However, this time we do recommend that you skip it, since it is a parody of the series where the characters will face the most varied situations in a school environment, so it has absolutely nothing to do with the actual plot of the series.

If you still want to see it, you can do it on Crunchyroll .

Season 3 (Part II)

Now it’s time to resume the second part of the third season, which covers episodes 50 to 59 (73 to 90 of the manga). You can watch it on Amazon Prime Video and Crunchyroll .

Season 4

As with the third season, the fourth season of Shingeki no Kyojin is divided into two parts . The first one includes from chapter 60 to 75 , while the second does from 76 to 87 . As many of you already know, at this point the series takes a 180º turn that took us all by surprise. I wish I could forget it to feel that feeling again, right?

You can see the first part on both Amazon Prime Video and Crunchyroll and the second only on the latter platform.

As we have seen in recent days, the Shingeki no Kyojin anime has not yet closed its story. It will do so during the coming year, since the production team of the series has announced that we will see the third part of the fourth season . At the moment we do not know the exact date on which this Final Season will begin or how many chapters it will have, but what is clear is that many are already counting down the days until we know the true end of a series that has brought us so many joys.
