The Football Association of Wales (FAW) announced on Wednesday that it had reached an agreement with the adult men’s and women’s national teams to receive the same pay . This decision is valid for the cycles up to the 2026 World Cup for men and the 2027 World Cup for women.
According to the British press, the men’s team accepted a 25% reduction in pay, which allowed a 25% increase for the women’s team. The teams released a joint statement about this equal pay deal.

As part of the federation’s journey towards equality, we are proud to announce that the men’s and women’s teams will receive the same pay for their upcoming international commitments.
The teams hope this will allow future generations of boys and girls to see equality between Wales’ international football representatives, which they see as “important to all of society”.
