Zverev: 'Justice prevailed in long and difficult process'

Following the statement by the ATP, which this Tuesday released the result of its investigation into the case of Alexander Zverev, accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend Olya Sharypova, revealing that no disciplinary action will be taken because it found no evidence enough, the German tennis player released a statement

“From the beginning, I maintained the defense of my innocence and denied the unfounded accusations against me. I fully appreciated and collaborated with the ATP investigation and appreciate the organization’s time and attention to this matter”, began the German.

“This decision was made after a neutral investigation, which reviewed all relevant information and made a clear and well-informed decision on this matter in my favor. In addition to the ATP’s independent investigation, there were also court cases in Germany and Russia, which I won,” added Zverev.

The German was grateful for the fact that everything was finally resolved and now wants to focus only on tennis. “My priority right now is recovering from the injury and focusing on what I love most in this world: tennis. I want to thank my friends, family and fans for their continued support. We continued the long and difficult process and justice prevailed.”
